Wally Tanksley is a member of the Labor Arbitrator Panels of the U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, with offices in the Southeast and the Northeast U.S., the American Arbitration Association, Coal Arbitration Service, and the National Mediation Board. He is also an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers. His arbitration training has included courses offered by the FMCS, AAA, Cornell University and Resolution Resources Corp.

Wally Tanksley brings more than thirty years experience in business and industry with leading private sector, investor-owned, non-regulated and regulated companies, and a major U.S. Government agency to arbitration of disputes involving labor, EEO, employment, commercial and business transactions which could lead to costly civil litigation or work interruptions.

Tanksley has prepared scores of cases for arbitration and has extensive experience with arbitration from his business/industrial background. Cases have covered a broad spectrum of disputes. Arbitration, which involves a trained, qualified third party who, with prior agreement, examines all facts presented by the parties and renders a decision which is binding, comes naturally to Tanksley because of his background and training.

Tanksley's business experience has included positions ranging from laborer to senior level executive in enterprises involving electric and gas utilities, environmental engineering, electronics manufacturing, fiber board manufacturing, electrical & mechanical repair, motors manufacturing, construction, tire manufacturing, air conditioners manufacturing, research & development, mining, and apparel sewing & distribution. His international and cross-cultural experience has taken him to 37 countries.

In the area of work-place dispute resolution Wally Tanksley brings a unique background. He grew up in a family steeped in union philosophies, and he gained an early appreciation of the workplace from the employee viewpoint. His father retired after more than 40 years as an active member of the railway Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and two sisters are retired members of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. Wally's earliest work experience, starting at age 16, was in a non-union garment factory in the Southeast where he gained a worker's perspective that would be valuable throughout his professional career. He has worked for more than 30 years in Human Resources and Labor Relations, negotiating countless collective bargaining agreements as spokesman for the company.
